Carlsberg’s State-of-the-Art Beverage Production in Sweden
Carlsberg, a Danish brewer, operates two beverage production units in Sweden. One is located in Falkenberg on the east coast of the Kattegat Sea, and the other, further south, is in Ramlösa. Altogether, these two units produce 3 million hectolitres annually. This high-capacity facility also includes a canning line that processes 90,000 cans per hour.
For this operation, Carlsberg chose Domino’s F720i fibre laser due to its high-speed capability and suitability for printing on beverage cans. The laser functions in a challenging environment with both water and high humidity, as well as temperature variations between summer and winter.
Adverse Conditions Unlike the controlled environment of a Domino lab, when one of our fibre lasers is deployed in a factory, it is crucial that the laser can handle these demanding conditions.
To apply its codes, the F720i generates a highly focused laser beam, delivered in short pulses. The speed of these pulses is critical and meets the high-speed requirements of the beverage canning industry.
